We need a texture property that defines if a texture is emitting light. Additionally we need a shader, that creates a glow-effect (or a dazzle effect for very bright spots like the sun or a flash-light). This will for example affect explosions, spaceship thrusters, laser beams, lamps, leds in the cockpit, etc and create nice effects.
