Description
Shadows are one of main issues when it comes to realism, without it the scene just looks wierd. Shadows are in real-time computer grafics what the neutrons are in Atoms, it is the glue, the one thing that tells us, that the scene we see really interacts.
In orxonox so I think we need the following approach:
- Idea:
- Shadows from Objects to the ground plane.
- Shadows via SUB Textures
- Interface:
- Takes one or more terrains, to project the Shadow to
- Takes a list of World-entities, for shadow calculation
- Renders the Textures placed onto the Plane
- Extensions:
- Soft Shadows
- (Shadow-Volumes (this is relly hard, and I do not think we need it))
- etc.
